About
David Mills is a University lecturer in the Department of Education at Oxford. After reading for a doctorate in Anthropology at SOAS, doing fieldwork in Uganda, he has held posts at Oxford (in Development Studies), Manchester (in Anthropology) and Birmingham (in Cultural Studies). Between 2000 and 2006 he worked for C-SAP, the Centre for Sociology, Anthropology and Politics, part of the Higher Education Academy. He is the author of 'Difficult Folk: A political history of Social Anthropology' (Berghahn 2008). He is keen to promote anthropological engagements with education, and has a particular interest in ethnographic approaches to studying Higher Education
