Visiting Scholars

From its inauguration, the Centre made one of its chief aims to attract visiting scholars for short or longer periods, with the maximum of a year, although the facility was not mentioned on the first brochure. The following have been Visiting Scholars: W. Watts Miller (UK), K. Thompson (UK), M. Cladis (USA), M. Gross (USA), D. Egashira (Japan), Y. Dror (Israel), M. Nakayima (Japan), M. Rosati (Italy), S. Baciocchi (Paris).

Visitors who have stayed for relatively short periods are Rachel Weiss (Brazil), Rafael Benthieu (Brazil), Alberto Riebes (Madrid).

Scholars who come to the Centre come as official guests of ISCA. The following procedure has been adopted. An application should be sent to the General Secretary who, in consultation with colleagues, decides to reject or process the application. If the decision is the latter the application is then forwarded to the Committee of Management of ISCA. If sanctioned, the candidate will be informed in a joint letter from the Chairman of ISCA and the General Secretary of the Centre.

It is regretted that there is no money available for visiting scholars for travel and living expenses.
